Electric longboard trouble

Hi this is my first post in the site and Im generally new with building electric longboard. So first off im gonna list my electrical parts
-2 7s zippy compact 5800mah lipos wired in parallel
-xt90 connectors
-Lithium 7s 60A BMS from batterysupport
-Quanum 2.4 controller
-2.2kw Alien Power system brushless motor
-Alien Power system 2-7s 120a mini esc
-Anti spark switch from APS
-Ignition key switch from ebay
So recently when I wired just the battery>switch>esc, the xt90 connectors between the switch and battery shorted out and melted. Ive check the all the wires are correct and I tried just wiring the battery directly to the esc still shorted out. So the problem must be coming from the esc. Could it be the firmware of the esc? Additionally I plug the battery to the switch only and im receiving current from the output wires, which means continuity:C I modified the power switch by taking out the red wire and cutting it in half so i could soldered it to the ignition switch but this couldnt cause the problem from the switch right? If anyone who has done this project with similar parts or who has knowledge to my situation plz help me :c

That ESC tends to have problems. I use to sell them and stopped because of the failure rate on those Escs.

Try another ESC see if it fixes your issues.

What esc would you recommend for this set up?

There's the VESC, Mamba has a 8S and I also sell a 12S. Since your using 7S, you can't use a 6S ESC.
