I ordered a front wheel. I got sent a rear fixed gear wheel. I disputed the transaction and got a full refund and got to keep the wheel.

So I am given a new ebike challenge. How to make an ebike from a fixed gear rear wheel.

I have photographs of the wheel but they are too detailed to upload. I will attempt to upload a photograph when I can work out the resolution.

Any ideas on how to turn this wheel into an ebike on the cheap.

I have a good set of schwalbes that will fit it nicely.

The wheel is a 700c rear fixed gear.

All ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

You should be able to unscrew the gear from the motor, with a freewheel remover that has the larger hole for the axle in the center

Then it should be possible to screw on a 7 speed freewheel. If it's a big ass powerful motor so wide only one gear fits, your "fixed" gear should actually be a one gear freewheel.

If that is the case, you will have a bike with a big ass powerful motor. Who pedals such a bike? One high gear is all you will need, at most.
