Hi Guys,

I am planning to mount a more powerful motor, controller and battery to my sluggish foldable electric scooter frame. The problem is the new battery pack and controller won't fit. I would have to partially rebuild the frame. I lack the tools to that and I wonder if anyone can share links to companies building electric scooter frames.

Thanks in advance

This is not likely helpful at all, so ignore if you don't want to waste your time looking at a sort of cool scooter design that isn't relevant to your project: MYLO.

If you could, perhaps snap a few pictures of your scooter so we can all get a clearer idea of what you have and how we can help you. Otherewise we cant really help you out, and would only really say just buy some heavy duty zip ties and place in a suitable spot, I do that with my electric bicycle, battery in the triangle, and controller ontop of top bar. Zip Ties!

Can you install a rack; there are myriad front and rear ones. Also, if your battery is small enough, a seat pack might encase it. I have a BBS02 that is powered by a 3" X 3" (or so) 52V, 6 ah battery in a seat bag.

Thanks Guys,

here are some pictures taken as requested. What I do like about this particular frame is it can be folded and loaded in to a car boot for ease of long distance transportation. I was able to return the 72v Lithium battery pack that I purchased few days ago in a near by store, they dont have a 72v pack that can fit without cutting and welding, so I am thinking instead cutting and welding my frame because the other batter pack was too long and too wide, can anyone share reliable links where I can buy a 72v LiFePo4 or Lithium battery to fit my battery hole.

It came with a tiny 2.5 -10 tires, I will like to replace that with a 3.5 front and rear wheel . Anybody with links to buy complete kits of wheels, rear sprocket, tires and brakes.

My advice would be to buy a controller and battery that are the correct dimensions to fit into the available space. Much easier. It does look like a fair bit of room there if you choose the parts wisely.

Next best option would be to make a spacer that goes between the frame and the deck to lift the deck slightly giving a bit more vertical space in the battery box.

Serious mods are always some work. Stretch it longer to fit. It will better handle the extra power and speed.

You purchased a new battery and controller and it wont fit inside the box that you stand on.

How far off is the battery and controller for fitment?
Pictures of the battery/controller and their dimensions along with dimensions of the box.

I see a few different ways of fixing the issue at hand....
1) Return the battery and controller and make a more detail oriented approach to your next purchase. You can't probably do that, but its worth a try for the return.

2) Depending on how far off the dimensions are, you could raise the deck (where your feet stand on) a bit and it would be very easy to do that. Wouldnt want to raise it up too far. This is the best approach for you.

3) Buy a new foldable stand up scooter.

4) Completely fabricate something new out of what you already have, like lengthening it which was mentioned.

Thanks markz ... I have actually cut and added 10 cm to the length and everything fits just fine. I do one more issue though .... Parking and Brake lights Kelly ctlr kbs72121x if you have any idea ...
