I have bought a new front hub: Hope Evo Pro II
These are the dimensions:

HUB TYPE SPOKE PCD
SPOKE PCD
LEFT SIDE 56mm

LEFT SIDE
SPOKE PCD 54mm

LEFT SIDE
OFFSET 20mm

RIGHT SIDE
OFFSET 33mm

My rim dimensions are ERD 533.6mm 26 inch 36H and I prefer 3 cross lacing pattern.

So what lenght of spokes do I need for left and right sides?

Thanks for help!

Using Justins calculator here;

http://www.ebikes.ca/spokecalculator/index.html

you need to do 2 calculations, 1 for each side, the flange spacing in this program specifies the distance between the flanges presuming they are equally spaced about the centre, in your case I think your flange spacings are measured from the hub centre line so you have to double your flange off set to position the rim centrally about 2 flanges with that same offset from the centre to get the calculator to tell your the spoke length for that side. then do the same for the other doubling the offset and entering this as the flange spacing.

Complete wheel data
Hub: My hub, front

Left flange ⌀: 54 mm
Right flange ⌀: 56 mm
Centre to left: 20 mm
Centre to right: 33 mm
Spoke hole ⌀: 2.4 mm
Rim: My rim

ERD ⌀: 533 mm
OSB: 0 mm
Size:
Tension for 36 spokes

Crosses Spoke length left Spoke lenght right Tension ratio L/R

3 253.7 254.6 166%

That's what I get using the numbers you supplied and this spoke calculator

I have a feeling that you are measuring from the outside of the flange to the outside of the other flange and that's why you have a total of 55mm.

Make sure that you are measuring from the center of the flange width to the other side. Also, when measureing PCD, it should be center of spoke hole to center of spoke hole. Good luck in your build and let us know how it went.

I use http://www.wheelpro.co.uk/spokecalc/
then check using justin's spoke calc at ebikes.ca
One thing I did find with the wheelpro calc is his method of measuring ERD gives spokes that are too long, so I have made up my 200mm long spoke length gauges with the end of the spoke about level with the base of the head of the nipple, which is where it sites on the inside of the rim (not the nipple slot like he does). This gives me the best measurement of ERD and the most accurate calculation of spoke length.

Thanks for help all! 8) 8) 8) :D

Thanks for the links

This one is easy for me as noob

For these ones I have to measure the hub again, because I don't know the hub flange diameter.
And I don't understand at which points of the hub to measure hub flange diameter.

I got inspired I have found some more online calculators.

http://www.prowheelbuilder.com/spokelengthcalculator/ (this bot not accurate?)

http://sapim.be/spoke-calculator (this one caculates left spokes are longer???? :? )

Thanks in advance.

I tried that sapim calc before & it calcs lengths too long!

wheelpro shows you how to measure the rim and hub in the tabs at the top, but like I said before, I measure my rim ERD slightly differently and it comes out more accurate.

Agreed! I had the same problem with that calculator!

Also which choice is better: to choose 1mm less or more when calculated spoke length doesn't exist.

Thank you!

Take the lower number.

So I would use 253 Left and 254 Right

253 doesn't exist, so I think I will buy 254mm for both sides.

Why doesn't 253 exist? where are you ordering from?

I like Sapim spokes they only exist in 2mm differences.

I get Sapim spokes from DansComp and they cut them to whatever lengths I want.

Thanks for help all! :D

I have bought 254 and 255 mm spokes.

But it seems at gear side 256mm spokes would be better.
Because wheel is too much to the disc side.
I don't have space (loosing right spokes too much will expose spokes thread) anymore for dishing wheel to disc side.

If the rim is too much to the disc side, the gear side needs to be tighter, not longer/looser.

That will pull the rim towards to gear side if you the tighten gear side. Also how are you spokes running? are they all inbound or all outbound or combination?

pic would be nice :D
