This may sound like a stupid question but is there anyway to get some type of internally geared hub that can be hooked up to a mid drive AND have TWO separate freewheels (one for pedals, one for mid drive AND a disc brake?....also it would be nice to try and get a long axle to fit a wider frame to accommodate double freewheels

I THOUGHT I already posted this but wondering if anyone ever came up with a solution for a geared hub that could be used with a mid drive that would hold up and could except two freewheels?...I see posts where people used SRAM,Sturmey Archer, and Shimano geared hubs but they all seem to have failed....anybody put dual freewheels on Rholloff or Nuvinci?

I've been looking at this NuVinci drive http://www.utahtrikes.com/PRODINFO-Nuvinci_Developer_Kit.html wondering if it could be used in a mid drive arrangement. The price is certainly pretty good. Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like it has a disc brake mount on the one side. I was wondering if it could be used with a toothed belt drive on the disc brake side and used in reverse and take the output from the other side. It says it only works in one direction but I wonder if thats not because of the freewheel.... that would normally be the input. If you were using it as the output side driving the left side of the bike / trike with normal chain drive on the right side... ie the motor would drive left side thru NuVinci and and normal pedal drive on the right.

Curious if anyone has had their hands on one of these and if this is doable.... I'm assuming the one way operation is because of the freewheel and not something else internal to the drive. Also wonder if this would not reverse your gearing. Meaning the ratios state .5 underdrive to 1.75 overdrive... I would think this would be reversed if it could indeed be used in the opposite direction.
