12V brushed with a dead SLA battery...easily worth $25 for the bracket alone. Adapt a TNC brushed or brushless motor, brushed will have a much cheaper controller, but brushless is better in the long run.

If you don't have a lot of steep and long and uphills, I have read about similar systems adapted to a 24V motor, and running 36V...

General Engines - see also Commuter Vehicles Inc.

In addition to producing the Comuta-Car and Comuta-Van under the Commuter Vehicles Inc. banner, this company also produced a line of electric bicycles and tricycles under the PedalPower name. They also marketed the Freeway 3-wheeler electric car for a period of time.

Hell yeah buy it at that price, just for the conversation piece. Go do a lap at the track with it, for a giggle.

Same reasoning that led me to pay $40 last week for a ford think electric bike. Frame alone worth 40, and the motor just needs a new controller.
