Hi all, new to this forum. I just inherited a gio electric scooter from a friend. I believe it is the 500w model.

The lead acid battery is all dead, so I plugged in 4x 20v lithium battery and it turns on. I was so excited, the light turns on, horn works, blinkers back/front works, but it doesn't go. Engaging the throttle does nothing.

I am thinking it is the controller, or motor or both? Image attached. Any suggestion from any e-bike experts???

Ken

G'day Ken.
It may not be the controller. Check the switches on the brake levers. When you pull the brakes, those switches tell the controller to cut power to the motor. Test with an ohm meter.
