Hey guys,

I just got back from looking at these at Canadian Tire, and after a quick google search I've found them for $115 plus shipping to the US boarder, and with a quick trip down I can save $80 from the atrocious price of $199 that Canadian Tire is trying to charge.

Anyways, my question is, has anyone played with these? Seems to me that 5 of these would give you 40v 20ah battery for about $600 shipped...I'm wondering what cells they use and how practical these would be for pack building? Any comments?

If you look far enough back in the battery section, like to 08, you should find some threads on people using those. They had a killer low price then, but nowdays anybody willing to experiment has lots of other things avaliable to play with. A123 pouch or round cells, headways, Hobby king lipo, etc.

Two of them would still make a nice little 40v 8 ah pack for a tiny gearmotor. But surely there are better options for a large pack, like A123 20 ah pouch cells.
