I recently purchased an nduro Rx, took my first ride the yesterday, and haven't stopped smiling. It made me feel like superman, even in touring mode.
The Bosch performance drive is more motor than I need. Eco and touring modes most of the time. Sport mode for steep climbs and turbo if I get tired. Turbo mode is actually too much for me in almost all offroad circumstances. What sucks is when the motor cuts off at 20mph. I just ordered an ASA speed module. I don't anticipate ever going above 30mph and I think the cadence would be too high, but for me, having motor between 20-25mph is important.
People think these bikes are too expensive. Compared to a Befang on a 10-year-old DH bike, they are. However, the Bosch system is certainly worth 2k, the bike is designed around it, and you are getting it on a 3.5k-4k bike. It all works out to a reasonable value.
I'm building another custom mid-drive. All new top grade parts with a backpack battery. It's almost done. It cost about 20% more than my Haibike. It's meant to be a different experience, all throttle. I'll see how it compares for the fun factor. However, I fully expect technical singletrack riding will be better with the Haibike.
My only complaint is the welds. They could have double passed and made them more attractive and finished looking. The NS Soda Evo I built has such nice welds that vanish. I would have expected the better welds would have came on the German bike rather than the Polish bike, but the Polish win the weld war. Well, both frames are almost certainly made in Tiawan.
