Those caught my eye too. Including shipping, $6.25 per cell. But they'd be useless to me without some well welded tabs to solder to. Wish I had the Doc's source for dead tool packs! Or a Canadian tire store in New Mexico. 8)

Have you seen this video, Dogman:

It makes soldering cell look fairly straightforward. I like the way he uses crocodile clips.

No, but I'm not one of those who have soldered a lot, and usually make a mess of just fixing a loose connection on a charger wire. You should see how bad I am with soldering plumbing pipe too. I'm thinking to save a bit, and get a 48v 10 ah headway pack for my dirtbike, maybe towards christmas or thanksgiving. Funny what a guy like me who can build a house no problem can't do. I'm the same with welding, pretty hopeless.

Have to admit, that did look easy. Of course I have never owned a real soldering iorn like that one. I understand that is mandatory to even try it. Looks like getting the solder stuck to both parts is the key thing, I'll have to try that next time I'm soldering on some wiring.

Yeah, I remember that one now, and there was another that used the flashlight like stack in a tube too. The biggest impediment is as allways, money. My wife is the battery recycler for the university, but so far, dammit, no lithium toolbatteries yet.
