I'm trying to connect to an APT controller, model AE2026 from the looks of it, with the EV Drive Manager software I picked up from another thread. It's version 3 and seems to launch fine but it won't connect. The manufacturer sent some files with a Prolific PL2303 driver to install, however the cable they provided appears to have a CH340 chip. Are there unique communication protocols for USB to serial connections according to the chipset?
The cable has only 3 wires, and the USB end has LEDs, red when connected to the bike, and blue once connected to a PC. The blue sometimes flickers, I'm assuming as data is either going or coming.
I tried installing the Prolific driver on a Win11 laptop which was suggested by the manufacturer, but it seems pointless as the laptop recognizes the cable with a CH340 under the Device Manager port listing.
I can't seem to locate any information online on the port connection, which uses a circular connector. The manufacturer's web site doesn't provide a lot of useful info to me.
