750w motor requires 36V ≥22A controller to attain full 750w output.
Larger controller will give more torque at low to middle speed, at the risk of more damaging heat and lower efficiency.
Less than full 25mph or full throttle up hills would use less than 22A - EG 12Ah for cruising 20mph.
10Ah battery would be sufficient, but possibly:
LiPo or LiFe
20min ~ 7-8miles @ 25mph ..
50min ~ 15miles @ 20mph
SLA
20min ~ 2-3miles @ 25mph
50min ~ 8miles @ 20mph
There are some MightyMax SLAs that are 22A, the Enersys ones are 20A. I looked at LiPo vs. LiFePO4 as a weight and cost saver. The LiFePO4 aren't in my budget, but maybe I can afford more and compromise with LiPo. If you are saying I can actually start with 3X10 and then add 3X10, that might be a way to make it happen.
I assumed the controller was like other components, you don't want "underrated" components, but in fact, isn't it nothing more than a resistor?
To summarize, I can drive the 750w gear reduction motor that wants 27ah, with 10ah batteries?
Did the 12>31T seem like an appropriate ratio for weight and mph?
When I get a grasp of the major stuff, I will also need throttle, brake lights, turn signals, headlight, charger, I need to know what fuses should be put where, 36V>12v converter, and something I can't seem to find, bulkhead connectors.
If there are other forums for battery, wiring, etc.. please let me know.....
You are going to be my angel
