I currently use 4x 5000mah 6S turnigy packs to power my bike. I have them wired up in 12S2P configuration. Until today I used a 4x6S turnigy charger (100W each channel) to charge my batteries but I fried it by connecting something incorrectly. The other issue was I had to disassemble my battery packs to charge every day which was a pain. So I want to charge @ 48v ideally with one connector and then save balancing for when it is actually required.
My question is, can I just buy a 220VAC > 48VDC power supply and hook it up and set the output voltage of the PS to 49.5v and just leave it? What is the simplest and ideally cheap way to do this? I see lots of threads on using things like Meanwell power supplies but then how do you go from the PS to the batteries? Direct?
Also, all these Meanwell fakes such as
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DC48V-350...531?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c54ee9683
Are they likely to have a copy of the board internally so you could still do the "R33" Mod?
