Just posting some pics of a homemade 48V 20Ah ebike battery pack. The 18650s aren't the best because they are 1C but they were new and got them fairly cheap. I made sure all parallel units had the same number of the different types of 18650s so that all of the parallel units were a close match to each other. It is a 10P 13S pack with a BMS. I figured this might be useful to someone that's thinking about building a homemade pack. I'll heat shrink it eventually, that is if I can find a heat shrink tube that has a 510mm circumference.
This type of battery shouldn't be used for more than a 10A draw. That's riding at a max of 480 W with a 48 V BBS02.
All the cell to cell connections were made with 0.15mm x 7mm Pure Nickel. The 5 lead wires (18 awg) are all the same length and merge into one (12 awg wire). Lead wires were soldered to the nickel strip before the nickel strip was spot welded to the cans.
