How can I connect a Solarstorm bike light to the CA 3?

Hi there,

I ask this question because I'm not a very good with electronics and the Cycle Analyst unofficial user guide doesn't give me the confidence to get this done without me worryin about blowing leds.

The Solarstorm X3 light (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nestling®Solarstorm-Headlamp-Bicycle-Headlight-Flashlight-Black/dp/B00T4BVM9O) runs on a separate 4cell batterypack @8.4V 6400mAh.

Will simply connecting it to the external DC plug work?

No, the DC plug is at pack voltage, eg 48V. You would need a DC-DC voltage converter.

you would also need to know how much power the light + the DC/DC converter was drawing, and make sure that didn't exceed the specs for the CA. it get's the pack voltage from a very thin wire that isn't going to handle big power loads.
