How many amps can i safely draw from one of these cells?

How many amps can this samsung 18650-26C cell discharge in bursts? http://www.me-systeme.de/docs/electronics/wireless-accessories/li-ion_1s1p2600.pdf

And do i need to provide a resistance value to work it out?

Sorry for the blunt post, but just need to know, as i am not sure i understand the specification sheet properly.

That data sheet specifies 3.9 amps max. But you're not using cells alone, but as part of a battery pack, in series & parallel. Parallel builds amps & amp-hour-capacity for your application. What is your use? The load (motor or otherwise) demand usually dictates battery configuration.

Its not for ebiking in this instance, i was hoping one cell could be used for a devise needing small 10 amp pulls. It looks like not then?

No, absolute max is 5 A and they will sag and heat a lot at that rate. They are really 1C cells. So, better look for something with lower internal resistance, like Panasonic PF, BE, BD, Samsung 29E, 32E, 25R, 20R, 20Q, 30Q, LG MH1, MJ1, HE2, HE4, HD2, and Sony VTC3, VTC4, VTC5, V3, ...
