I've found an InMotion P2 at a thrift store. It's a tiny ebike-on-paper whose pedals aren't really meant for much other than making it legal as a bicycle. This suits me just fine as I have regular bicycles for fitness purposes.

I haven't bought it yet, but I'm thinking about it. I normally ride e-scooters, but my country is busy drowning them in bureaucracy and generally making them useless, so I need a less paranoically regulated PEV type. The P2 would be perfect as a scooter substitute because of its tiny size and unassuming appearance, but the drivetrain is pretty weak and I live in a hilly city, so that's a problem.
I'm very familiar with scooter modding so ditching the stock electronics for an upgraded PAS-activated controller and big fat battery wouldn't be a problem at all (I actually already have the hardware stashed around), but I'm wondering how much power would the motor be able to take before it burns out the windings.
From my experience with 10"-wheeled scooters, I figure that 12" motor would give me acceptable performance if I could throw about 1 to 1.2 kilowatts in it. At 36V that'd be about 28-33A.
Thing is, I can't find a tech sheet for the motor at all. The bike is specced at 350W nominal/500W burst, but that only tells me how the controller is set up, not how much the motor can actually take.
All I can give is a pic of a spare motor:

Do you have any idea what I can expect? I'd be perfectly willing to add an oil bath inside to help with heat transfer to the shell.
Note: boosting speed is NOT a priority - 25kmh is fine. I just need torque.
