Got this link for purchasing ring terminals for wires measured in AWG (got only metric terminals at the moment that are no good for that).
I'm used to having the number of the square millimeters (wire thickness) on the left, then a dash and the hole size in millimeters on the right.
Here it says SC with a number let's say 16 which is 16th of an inch or something? and dash 6 for example which means the hole size in what? mm?

It's the same metric style you are used to, just look at the second pic and you'll see.
Also whats wrong with using metric lugs for AWG sized wire?
There are lookup tables on google, simply choose the closest one that will fit.

The closest metric ring to my use doesn't grab the wire as well and I need to use a smaller die and it gets squashed to the side with metal "wings" left on the side.

I see, that happened to me as well it never bothered me though.
I don't know what wire AWG you have but I solved this by using a smaller lug and soldering the left over strands to the lug.
You then add some heatshrink to the end and that's it :D

But you can use AWG sized lugs of course you just have to look for the correct term on ebay:

Thanks man, the first listing on that search term solved it for me :)
