C965A number of assist levels.
I have a C965A LCD Display.
It has 3 levels of assist.
The manual (07/2014) says it can be set to have 3, 5, or 9 levels of assist.
There are no instructions in the manual that describe how to set the number of levels.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you in advance.

As far as I can see this manual has no information on this subject.
Thank you.

It looks like they left it out of the manuals. Go into the Password protected part on the display and as you scroll through the PAS options will come up after the Speed Limit set.

On the display (C965 and C965A manual) that I have there are two password protected screens - WHEEL SIZE - SPEED LIMIT . There is no screen for setting the number of PAS levels. The author of the manual, yzhao@aptdevelop.com told me in a personal email that it is not possible to set the number of PAS levels using the display. If anyone has any personal experience dealing with this issue, I would appreciate a response. Please don't contribute if you don't have actual experience. Thank you.

Perhaps I wasn't clear enough. Go to the password protected screen and enter the password. You will then scroll through the wheel size and speed limit screens and then come to the PAS screen. At least this is how my C695 is laid out and how I changed mine to 9 PAS levels. For some reason, it is not shown in the manual but it is there.

I just went and took photos showing the 4 PAS options you have to choose from when you scroll to the PAS setting screen.

If you don't have this option then perhaps you have an older version that didn't include this option. I purchased mine in November.

cjh many, many thanks. It worked!
I was confused by the display contents on the bottom line ( some alphabetic code ).
However I pressed the up and down buttons and the display cleared and I was able to set the # of levels to 0-9.
Wow! Again a million thanks mate!

Just received a C965 3button display and level 0-9 works indeed. But where is the used watts indicator? My brother has the 5 button one together with newer BBS-01 engines and there you can see real usage?

The 5 button C965, 2 off them, don't want to be changed. There is no PAS level indication in the setup menu. Strange. The C965 with 5 buttons is exactly the same version, v4, as my 3 button one. The 3 button one has no Usage indicator also but has the PAS level setting. Very inconsequent version labelling.

Hello bgt,
Does it really mean only 5 button version of C965 show actual power consumption in Watts and only 3 button version is able to customize PAS levels? That sounds really strange.
What version you have C965 or C965A?
It also seems C965 is able to display actual voltage.
Thanks.

Yes, it is strange. They both say model C965 and version 4
Both have no voltage display(you can choose the battery voltage level in the setup menu on the 5 button 1), only power display on the 5 button 1.
