Hi.

I'm looking for a hub motor which I intend to use in a rear wheel driven kick scooter. It's a jungle out there, and i'm swamped with options. I would really appreciate some motor recommendations!
i imagine the most practical setup would be a motor with integrated wheel rims so that I can mount the wheel directly to the motor.
I'm located in Norway.

I can't say I can make any recommendations as I have zero experience in the matter, but I have come across https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-kit/639-6-8-10-scooter-motor-ebike-kit.html#/size-6_inches this page in the past and the options looked interesting, I guess.

If you told us what scooter you plan on using, what range you need and what your speed expectations are we could probably give you better suggestions.

I haven't decided on a scooter because I'd rather get the motor that fits my needs first, and then find a scooter to match it. If needed I'll make my own frame. I would however prefer a wheel with a bit of diameter. Somewhere around 20 cm or more I think.

I don't really need that much range, but I'd like to see speeds around 25-30 km/h. I'll also need enough torque to handle around 10 degrees incline for shorter periods at a time.

Found this one on Aliexpress.com
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/8inch-48V-400W-high-speed-brushless-non-gear-hub-motor-electri-scooter-kit-electric-bike-conversion/32340397214.html

Will probably try out that option, and i'll let you guys know what i think.
Next item I need to find is a kick scooter that can fit a rear wheel with 65mm width.

Hi,

I also looking for some options, my dream is to get 110mm or 100mm hub motor, similar to this http://www.etotheipiplusone.net/?p=2106
I don't need much power (just enough to drive it on flat surface) and wiling to pay for it. I just need motor itself - I can manage electrics :) 2-3 km range is enough (just get me from house to subway, and from subway to work).

You can pick up hub motor kits for scooters, just a quick search on monster gave me this: 24v 200 watt hub motor.

12.5 inch tire is too big, I need something like 3.9 - 4.3 inches (100 - 110 mm, roller blade wheel) for something like this :

it would be nice to know what size wheels you need. The smallest hub motors i've seen on aliexpress for kick scooters are 6inches (150mm) and 8inches (200mm).

Check https://www.uumotor.com.
They do have 4 inches wheels, dropout is 60mm, it will not fit in standard trick kick scooters, I will think about it.

Trick kick scooters use inline skate (rollerblade) wheels, which are 100-110 mm in diameter, 24 mm thick and they use 608 bearings.

i don't think they make hub motors that small. You might consider doing a chain drive like this guy
