Hello everyone, my name is David Raaijmakers (17years).
I live in the Netherlands in a small village called Nuenen, its near Eindhoven (big city).

Everyday I used to cycle to school.. Located in Boxtel where I study "Green Engineering" where I learn everything about solar and renewable energy. Like bio-gas en algae possibilities for al kinds of uses. But every day I cycle 60km to school. So 30km towards school and 30km back, I takes me about an hour as a trained cyclist.

But the day I drove around the block with my brothers 1000 watt rear hub a few times I knew it!! I wanted to go electric :D

I cycle as a sport (mountain-biking, cyclocross and road cycling) so I ride loads of kilometres a week. At least 250 kilometres for training and 5 times my school trip so plus 300 kilometres. Makes a total of 550km a week. I was thinking of a way to get to school with less efford. So my school bike will be transformed to electric I had a few options. NO rear wheel hub motor, because I love my internal shifting hub to much :) (Shimano Alfine 8speed). A front wheel hub would be okey..
But most importantly a natural feeling is high up the list, and also the weight issue with the hub motors.

So a middrive was a easy choice.. Started searching online, found a second hand 250watt cyclone kit for little money!
Only the throttle was broken.. The seller said, but nothing was thrue..

It was a cheap f*cked up mountainbike kit he had bought directly from the cyclone boys. So I only wanted the motor and the accu pakkage.
So I stripped the whole thing, and handed over the money (charger/motor/mounts/rack/battery).

Thought I could start building imidiatly but unfortunately the crankset was way to small, the battery battery murdering system (BMS) started to do work so a few cells where way below there voltage. So bye bye BMS and started charging with some iMax B6 chargers. Each headway like cell could hold about 10/11 amps and they had been laying/dusting for 4 years!. Throttle was broken so I used one of a electric scooter. Opened the motor to check the internal controller but it was green of corrosion :(
So cleaned and tried to replace the fets but failed, board was to far in heaven already.

Soldered some thick wire to the phase wires and cleaned everything out, and replaced bearings
Got online and ordered some stuff from GreenTime. Controller, throttle, wattmeter, voltage meters, and so on.

HELP!
Can't find a guide trough "search" for modding a controller and charger (amp wise).
I understand it's been done by soldering up your shunts... But thats it mostly

Waiting for stuff...
While write futher when I have time ;)

Cheers David Raaymakers

So time to write down the improvements on my little bike!
I openend the controller and searched the internet for some specs on my controller fets.
I found out that they are RU7088 Fets, so here are the specs:
70V
80A
320A Pulse
175Degree
These are the absolute maximum ratings ofcourse, so i'll try to stay at about 80% of its max rating!
So I started with soldering my shunts...
It peaked at 600watts when I got it at first, the first time I soldered it up I got a peak of 800watts.
After that I really wanted just a little more and I went up to 1400watt peak
Ofcourse this is tricky but hey.. It only costs 20,-

I made a drawing with some measurements for my mom to sew a nice little bag for me  this will be a frame bag for the batteries and the little controller.
So now with the possible 1300watts continu the motor heats up pretty quick, after a few minutes doing some sprints and burnouts. The motor got up to a temperature of 60 degree's  So I'll definitely need to ad the ugly cooling fins.. I got them when I bought my little kit second hand but removed them, because they are all bent up and stuff.

So the heat of the motor will be my first problem that I need to figure out!
One of the possible options is a three way switch to limit the power to the motor, but Leo from Greentime messes up at this moment. He send me an broken throttle on the first shipment and it takes ages to get the throttle here... And with the replacement throttle in the pakkage is also my 3-way switch/PAS/Xlr male and female connectors...

I will and some foto's of my bike soon!

ANY SUGGESTIONS OR IDEAS ARE MORE THAN WELCOME ;)
