I bet a crack-down on e-bikes is coming.....

What's helping here is where there has been a few incidents where elderly people have been knocked down and hospitalized by youngsters riding on the pavements on high powered e-bikes.
But it's all worth it, I get to keep the dogs and love them more than the old bag would.

are they getting knocked down by surrons or those deadly 250w bikes with throttles?

Do not think they are Surrons as they are not really a pavement ride, they are more a converted hard-tail with say a 750w rear hub motor and a large battery, still packs a lot of pain if you get hit by one. Plus a e-bike rider was recently jailed for killing a woman who was on a zebra crossing.

I don't know what it is with the youth of today, honestly. I walked off the zebra in my small town and on the footpath a scooter and then an un-powered pushbike nearly cleaned me up. The only thing I can think to explain it was that the main street is a one way and they were heading in the opposite direction. I swear if that pushbike had been any closer the young rider would have a got a stiff arm across the neck. In a sense it was partly my fault as years ago I was taught to be alert when out on the street etc. But you'd think you could let your guard down the footpath of a small rural town? Apparently not.

In the city center it's a lot worse. I have had close encounters with those rental scooters going full speed up the footpath, with people everywhere. It was like some death race 2000 remake.

Once upon a time two brothers, Wilbur and Orville, decide they want to fly, after all, if God hadn't wanted men to fly he never would have created wings. So they build a plane, and it flew!

Their greatest invention was the left hand threaded left pedal. After they became infatuated with kites they became a liability.

Regulation was needed they thought. But the pilots had other ideas. No, this is our God given right, it shall not be infringed upon.

We are sensible in keeping people from operating planes all over the city. But anymore cars are heavier, faster and loaded with distraction devices. We need to banish them to regional carports and remove licenses from those who operate them in cities.

The powered ultralight. It would be unregulated basically, though the pilots still had to obey certain rules of the air, and the engines had to be small in capacity, the planes limited to certain altitudes and prohibited over certain areas - Like suburbia!

If cars were as limited in where they could operate as ultralights are I would not have nearly as many objections to them. I would still want an SUV driver voodoo doll.
