Picked up this trike off kerbside and thoughtit is a BRILLIANT candidate for a front hub motor! The lads were around yesterday and also thought we could have some "drifting fun" on this thing on the hills up here, trouble is i can't pedal and my mates aren't exactly the "bicycle type" either so a thought HUB MOTOR wont be getting anything flash, theres some cheapo 1000watt hub motors on ebay, i might even look around for one i saw aaaaages ago has a rubber tire directly on the hub motor! Be next project anywayz attach the seat further back and throw some foot pegs on it (has a freewheeling front hub in the wheel) so i can have a rap down the hills here hehehee...video to come!

Checked ebay for the cheapo hub motors came across this candidate

Front 1000watt hub motor Kits (all included cept batteries) in a 16inch rim for under 300 dollars sounds to be in my budget!!

Lol, that thing looks like a some serious entertainment!

Ya need to spin the back wheels to have any fun. At least in the old school I grew up in it was that way and that's the way I still like it.

Looks like awesome fun that. I was envious. Some good beer and a clear run would yield a sore belly from laughter.

We used to do a similar thing in those kiddy cars with plastic wheels but such a long run.

Yup some people never grows up. ;^) Back wheels be drifting and if powered you don't need any hills to spin out but it might be hard to go anywhere with hard plastic tires and near zero traction. Front wheel is tracking most of the time anyway. Looks like bike wheels in front? I do see what you mean cuz it's going to do the same thing either way with that kind of idea and front wheel is easier to drive.
I was driving down a steep hill on the freeway on the way home last week around 11pm. Doing near sixty I was. Came around a corner and saw brake lights so changed lanes and went around them only to see a bunch like 40 or 50 little kids bikes with big people on them going down the freeway at probly 40+mph. I’m talking about many small first bikes for toddlers and up to four or five year olds that often have training wheels and a few smallish BMXs with pink tires too. They were taking up full lanes on the freeway kind of scary for us mere mortals in cars. Some people are crazy when they try to have fun. They do the what they call the Zoo bomb here. Take the light rail to the zoo platform it's in a tunnel and ride the elevators up several hundred feet then take the bikes and skateboards down the neighborhood streets but usually don't take lanes up on the freeway. Thanks for the vid and smiles.

This video is a riot! REminds me of many fun filed days gone by.

Other thoughts; when a man sees something with wheels, he is no longer bored. If he is, he needs medical help.
Guys will race ANYTHING!.

Beer, wheels, and some occaisonal boobie. thats all there is to life for guys.

Ok so got to show this to the spouse; she thinks i am foolish and a risk taker. this will show here what I could be doing.

HAHA Travis Pastrana is a nutter, thats from last season of Nitro Circus, i forget which ep now (i have them all) they do flips on the trike
at Travi's house, when Andy Bell beats Travis landing the only trike backflip to dirt.. Travis heads to the ramp in the video above WITHOUT Andy Bell so he can out do him, they are insane the lot of them. Travis has jumped out of an aeroplane WITHOUT a parachute, I think after that everything else pales in comparison and is lame to him hahaha HE's the supreme adrenalin junky for sure...hahaha OH and the Chickie Babe in Nitro Circus, is there a man that could even come close to satisfying her hahaha...
