For what it's worth, you could try a rear wheel motor to see if you even like electrifying. It's much simpler to install, and cheap, plus you'll lose your front shifting with a mid drive, which doesn't matter to some. Mid drive is also noisier, which again might not matter.
Another thing with mid drive, if you're ever on a long ride and break your chain and can't fix it, you're stranded, but with hub motor there's more redundancy.
Mid drive really shines on off road jumps and trails, but for 3 wheels always on the ground, there's not as much advantage, but still lots of extra maintenance issues on the chain and gears.
