I thought when the battery pack arrived it would be obvious how to attach it to the bicycle. There's plenty of room to mount it on the downtube of my extra-large diamond frame. I just need some ideas. I don't want to mount it on a rack on the back because I haul about 20 pounds of gear on the rear racks each day.

There's a long metal tab that could be attached to the frame, but the battery has oval shape on the other side that looks like it would rest against the frame.

Googled youtube and looked around here, but couldn't find any help.

That battery is meant to slide into a space behind the seat post tube at the seat stays. The round portion allows it to hug up against the seat post tube. The battery does not lay down horizontally.

I've determined that I can mount it on my down tube if I slot both the mounting plate and the case. I can slot them such that I can line up the case and then slide it down about 4 inches to lock it in place. The mounting plate is a little loose, so I'll have to use a couple of cushions and a Velcro strap to keep it from rattling. This mounting method will allow me to use the water bottle mount and the case lock for security.

Big metal hose clamps like they use on round heating and cooling duct.

I worked out a method to slot the mount and battery case and mount to the bicycle.

Case and mount marked for slots:

I'll use one or two velcro straps to keep it from rattling. One cool bit is that the key lock now works to lock the case to my frame.

Now I understand the problem better, and see what the problem was. I wasn't getting it before.

You modified it to work in the frame. The mount was made to be pulled from the top, sliding all the way off the end of the mount when used on a frame with the space behind the seat.

Well done! Velcro back up always a good idea. If you never take the battery off the bike, the large hose clamps could also still be used to eliminate rattle. Whatever you think works and looks best.

The solution turned out to be easier and better looking and functional than I thought it would be. I will likely use clamps as I don't need to remove battery for charging and it will make it a little more theft proof
