have been lurkin and i have just encountered a problem with my titan igo ebike. the motor spins ok the free wheel works i can pedal ok but no drive from the motor to the drive gear box, i think the gear from the motor to the gearbox has loosened off and the motor just spins with no power to the rest of the drive train  , if any one has any suggestions please let me know

thanks

Do a Google search for R-Martin, Tonaro or Aseako gears. That bike goes under several different names in different countries.A few people experienced various failures in the gear box. Here's a thread that shows an Aseako clutch failure.

Thanks d8veh,

Interesting reading
I contacted Javy in China
All parts are available
Thing is there has to be a reason for the bearing failiure
The most likley cause is lack of lubrication
I wonder if a better quality ? spec. bearing is a better option
I will wait for machine shop's opinion

If it is just poor grease, all chinese parts makers only use enough grease to prevent rust NOT lubricate.
I use this one it turns from red to black when it needs replacing .

I use it on every bicycle bearing that I can get to .

Sorry, I seem to have jumped threads

To answer J Ritty,

Remove electric motor
Lift 2 small gromets from top of motor
To reveal 2 allen bolts
Unbolt and lift off motor
Check gear and retaining pin
Test run motor

There were some updates to the gear drive and clutch, presumably because of a lot of failures. It's probably best to replace everything between the motor ourput shaft and the chain unless you can figure out what version you have and what all the changes were.
