Putting power supplies in series and isolating them, and the output is lowest Amp PSU.
Can I put a Mean Well PSU in series with my iMax b8+ RC Charger?
Like a NES-350-48(41-56V - 7.3A) or 36V(32-40V - 10A) model, with my 150W iMax (8S LiFePO4 = 28V @ 5.2A and 8S Li-Ion = 33.6V @ 4.4A)
Would that setup still balance my pack if the iMax was in balance charge mode?
My reasoning is, I could split the a123 pack into 2 and charge with iMax. Thats the highlited green in a123 area.
Then put iMax and MW to get my Li-Ion voltage. 65.5-73.5V range for my Li-Ion pack, in the 36V MW. Then build my packs accordingly.
Those are the 2 strips of horizontal yellow highlited, 16S and 18S.

I have narrowed my search down to Panasonic NCR18650-PF and Sony Konion US18650VTC4.
Its just a matter of what kind of performance I want out of my batteries, which turns into longevity.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below is roughly based on 17S(61.12V) Li-Ion
Samsung INR 18650-29E
2.9Ah - $3.60
8.25A discharge
$300 for 15Ah - 41A(5P)
Pro: Smaller Package, cheaper then PF with a little more capacity.
Con: Lower Discharge Current
Solution: Could double up pack, get 100A discharge with 30Ah.
Panasonic NCR 18650-PF
2.9Ah - $3.95
10A discharge
$335 for 14.5Ah - 50A(5P)
Samsung ICR 18650-22P
2.2Ah - $2.79
10A discharge
$345 for 15.5Ah - 70A(7P)
$295 for 13.2Ah - 60A(6P)
Pro: More discharge capability, more money for same size (Ah)
Sony Konion US 18650-VTC4
2.1Ah - $3.45
30A discharge
$351 for 12.6Ah - 150A(6P)
$295 for 10.5Ah - 120A(5P)
Pro: Massive discharge capability. Cost more for same size (Ah)
