I have the yescomusa 500 watt kit currently running at 12S... Craving a little bit more speed. I have a bunch of 4S bricks So I would be jumping straight from 12s to 16s. I'm pretty sure the stock controller won't handle this (I think the caps are 63v). Any ideas for a cheap controller that would let me do this or possibly more? :D

I used this on my 500w kit before moving it to the 1000W kit. IIRC, I got 35mph at 19s. See this for wiring instructions.

Lyens, in the for sale section has some very nice controllers. The budget 9 fet one will do 72v 20 amps. The 12 fet is worth the extra money, but will tend to heat up a hubmotor a lot faster with more amps. Tell lyens what voltage you want, if you are going to use 16s. Stock, it's set for 20s.
