Is my new motor broken?

So I just got a kit and while putting on the wheel I turned it and it sounds like there is a screw loose inside
I don't have a battery yet so I can't test it.

I don't have a geared motor (only direct drive)...but I beleive it shouldn't sound like that!

Yup, something loose in there. Who is the vendor? You might want to ship it back, or with their consent on the warantee, pop the cover and fix it. I wouldn't test run it for sure!

My Gm motor had an extra spoke nipple rolling around in the DW rim.So the question is... is it the motor or the rim.

It's very easy to "loose " a nipple in a DW rim. Many would give up trying to get it out. See if you can tell if it's in the rim.

I took a magnet off of my old burned up brush motor and held it to the rim. The nipple latched on inside the rim. I moved the magnent over to one of the drilled holes and it came out with a little coaxing from a toothpick.
