i ordered a new MAC from paul. unfortunately i damaged some windings while installing it.
now the motor behaves weird. it's a very fast stuttering. i suspect the damaged windings to be the cause.
is rewinding the motor worth the effort?
i don't want to ordered another one, and think that it can't be THAT hard. it's a 8T, so there are only a few windings.
a 100m roll costs about 10-15€ (equal to us$), so costs are small.

what do you think?

edit: how is the wire diameter determined? with or without laquer? i guess it's the pure copper?
and how to know how many meters i will need? i guess it would need to unwind the whole motor and measure it?

Its been a long time since I've wound any motors but it does take a good bit of forethought and after winding 3 motors you'll see variations from one to the next as you develop the skill. As far as gauge size its measured by the cross section area of the copper.

hmm. i didn't plan to become a pro by winding a dozen ;)
i wished to do it once and forever. but gaining new skills is always welcome. i just hope that time&material invested is worth it. of course i can't count the hours of typing posts and watching youtube videos as well as finding the right copper and multiply it by my salary. it's a hobby after all and i like doing that stuff.
