just messed with it a bit... working great for me as well.
I would suggest trying a differnt browser to see if its an issue on your end. I never looked into it, but I assume its a Java app.

Anyhow, J is on it.

Firefox 40 nuked it somehow. My Internet Explorer version failed also. The font is different and the drop down for motors is blank. You can still select using tab, but it is mostly broken. I downgraded to Firefox 39 here: http://tinyurl.com/njkykbj

It is working again :)
yup. that is it for sure.
Firefox crashed on me (it does it once a week or so) and when it restarted, it applied the update.
I just checked it for you, and yup.. it will not let you select anything. Version 40.0.2... there better be a patch for it soon. lol. (for firefox, not the calc. its likely there is nothing wrong with the calc, just a shitty firefox upgrade)

Is FireFox known for shitty updates?
yes. but their fix for it is to push out more and more updates (that will download automatically and self-apply on restart) until its stable.
Then they make a new one!

I used to really like firefox, but man are they becoming bloated... and randomly unstable. I am trying to avoid switching to Chrome, as I have my firefox all setup how I like it.... but if it doesnt get fixed soon, I will just move on.

The motor simulator is not the only java site I am currently having issues with from the update.

I guess I have to use Chrome if I want to use the Motor Simulator.
Since Chrome is a google thing, what kind of drawbacks does Chrome have? They probably save everything you do, no matter if you use Yahoo or, DuckDuckGo.

eh, everything can be set to something besides google if you want.
The largest drawback to Chrome is it uses alot of system resources (memory mostly)
This is because it sandboxes everything... so if one tab/app/plugin crashes, it does not bring down the whole browser.
This works fine on a modern machine, since multiple gigs of memory is the norm now.

However if you're running your old laptop in the garage, it makes everything slow to a crawl because of page file swaps.

I dont care about it crashing, because mine currently crashes with Mozilla FireFox. I dislike the fact Google saves EVERYTHING!

they give you the option to opt out... you just have to set them all.
