While perusing ebay for different ebike stuff, I came across a couple geared motors that have cassette splines on them. I followed the watermark on one of the photos to a website that appears to sell most of the same stuff as bmsbattery and it's other associated companies. Anyone know anything about them? They have different sizes and wattage ratings, here's the link to the ebay ad that appears to be a Bafang CST:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-New-36...Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a3b35205a

and the hallo motors website showing the same item:

A search for hallo motor on here got me nothing, anyone know anything about this kit? is it a Bafang or XOFO? Something else?

conhismotor and mxus are now selling geared motors that kinda look like that.

I don't think it's a bafang..

That's with shipping. On bmsbattery, a CST, watertight connector and controller kit will cost about the same once you factor in shipping. Using paypal on ebay seems safer to me, with the stories I've read on here about dealing with bmsbattery.

Yeah, but that's not a CST.. that's just a fairly standard 250-350w hub marketed as a 500w hub.
The CST is larger and has a different colored cassette section. It's also constructed better.

That is a pretty high price for the kind of motor that i think it is.

I don't think it's mini size. Hard to say with no specs.
If it's not a BPM, it must be a clone.
Look at the removable cover and the tabs/boss where the screws are. That's a very distinct shape.
Still, for that price, better off ordering form BMS Batt. Unless the wait time was considerably less(Who knows?).
At least with BMS Batt., one knows(sort of), what you are getting.

It's not easy to say without seeing it closer, but I'm pretty sure it's a Xofo 500w CST kit. The Xofo motor is the same size and shape as the Bafang. I have both motors, and they're both good, so nothing to worry about. They run nicely with 30 amps at 36v and 25 amps at 48v. I don't understand why he's supplying a 15 amp controller. You should check that with him, because it appears that he does different versions. You should also check what RPM you'll get.

I think that's what it is, the XOFO, and in other threads, it looks like the Bafang CST is faster, so if i go the cassette hub route, I think I would rather go with the faster.
Besides the Bafang, q100, and XOFO, what other cassette compatible hub motors are there? The q100C from bms battery is really cheap, 109 for motor in wheel, 145 for a kit, but only comes in 201rpm, and I don't think I would ever be happy with that.

MXUS also make a clone of the Bafang CST:

They also make a smaller one XF08C, which is just about to be replaced with a new version with six planetary gears XF09C.
Bafang make the SWX size CST motor, but I've still not seen anyone selling them.

The Q100C also comes in 328rpm version. I have one.

Yeah based on the cheap price I would say its Xofo over a Bafang, just a guess though.
I noticed they have slashed the price directly on their web site $275, thats pretty cheap if its anything like mine.

I got a Bafang CST 500w on the S12S controller with the same LCD panel.. The LCD panel is basic but is handy, you can use it to change your battery voltage level (LVC in other words).
I do wish they made a "nerd/advanced" mode where you could see scary things like actual battery voltage instead of the simple bars....

I actually crashed mine the other day, unpowered just going down a big hill. So I got all the bits sitting in my car boot. I got insurance money for a new bike as well.
You can see the LCD panel pushed forward at the front, slowed me down a bit I guess as I went flying over the car (another handy feature).

That looks like it had to be a hellacious wreck! Yeah, 275 seems cheap, but +40 for rear, +40 for 28" rim, and then some, and the price starts creeping up pretty quick.
