hi there love the bike wot size motor you running ? wot power you using? keep up the good work
cheers mark

Great looking bike, Jetguy! Really nice battery container. I love how you put the top of the controller out of the box. What did you make it out of? Townies make great ebikes...I've got a silver one. I love the black ones, too. It looks really sharp with the cream colored tires and the eightball theme. Very well done!

Jetguy,

You did a super job! :D What brand of bike is that and how do you like the crank-forward, "flat-foot" design compared to a regular bike ?(Vim, same question if you read this). I think my next E-bike build is going to be on a C-F bike.

Russell, Jetguy's and my bike are both Electra Townies. I've got neck and upper back problems and riding in a crouched over position like on a road bike really aggrivated it. The crank forward Townie completely eliminated that problem for me. It's the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden.

I think Giant and a few other companies are now making CF bikes due to the success of the Townies. Mine was about $450 from the LBS last year, but I think the price has gone up since.

thanks guy! It took me a good 2 weeks to make every thing. My bike is an Electra Townie 24 speed (used to be 24 speeds now its 15 speeds). I dont think they make my exact model any more unless you buy the "art" version. the crank forward is real comfy! I made the battery box out of MDF (medium density fiberboard). I used auto store exhaust U bolts 2" and 1.5" w/ rubber hosing over them to protect the bike frame. the 8-ball design is a stencil i found on the internet and printed out on clear self adhesive printer paper. cut it out and spray painted. the box i built was sanded, primed, sanded, painted all gloss white for white part of 8-ball, masked then satin black, masked again then gloss black for black part of 8-ball. the 8ball pull on the door is a car lighter i found at autoparts store, i took it apart to make it work on my bike. i also cannibalized 2 magnetic pick up tools to insert into the door to help keep it closed. i also have a kitchen cabinet door catch to help keep it closed.
I masked and painted the amped bikes wheel to match my front wheel.

saving my pennies for a thudbuster and a cycleanylist. :D then maybe rocket launchers and mini-gun not sure how i'm gonna mount them though?!?
