Kalkhoff 48v battery replacement.

I have inherited a Kalkhoff Image 27g ebike but unfortunately the battery is no use having been left uncharged for an extended period of time. I believe that Bionx have ceased trading so sourcing a replacement is proving difficult. Can anyone suggest a solution or is it possible to convert the connection to another battery type and if so which would be best.

BionX had a very proprietary system; check ebikesca; I think they have a method to replace the controller and battery.
