Keeping cellog 8 plugged in?

I have kept mine plugged in, but in sleep mode, for a couple of weeks.
Today I noticed the voltages had dropped quite a bit and the batteries were not well balanced.
Does anyone else keep it plugged in? What is the consumption in sleep mode? Does it draw power from all of the cells?

Put a switch on the neg lead wire and turn it off when not needed. I've been doing this for a few years now and works fine. My CellLogs are perminantly mounted in the pack making it a PITA to remove the harness. I have left the packs with CEllLogs connected but with the switch off for 6 months at a time with no problems.

Edit: All 4 of my packs are 24v 20ah lifepo4 (8 cells per CEllLog).

Or just any other variant. I would offer you more details, but it was several months ago that I rounded up info, and I don't remember the specifics.

Gist is:
Sleep mode still has substantial percentage of the relatively low celllog battery draw, only the LCD is off.

Yes, you will have uneven discharge. Especially between cells 7-8 and 1-6, unless you do the mod to balance the discharge between those.

I remember reading somewhere that there will still be a tiny draw, but it might be restricted to cases when you're running 7-8 cells, not just 1-6. The draw is very low, but something that perhaps a summer in storage would cause problems.

A switch would be nice, but that is more parts to keep dry in the rain etc..

Someone will probably bring it to you from the top of their head, but I don't remember of the top of my head. I believe so, however. That's not enough confidence to assume so, however.

You should probably consider to look for the threads, as mentioned. They're definitively on ES. Unless maybe someone else remembers them off the top of their head and just chimes in.

I think someone on ES did find that using only 6 chanels didn't use power in sleep mode. On another point though....have you actually tested your CellLogs in the sleep more? I'm asking because 2 of mine will not alarm when in sleep mode but I thing (not sure though) they did when they were new. They work fine in the screen saver mode though. I have spoken to others and they are not having this problem.

I think sleep mode *will* draw a bit of power.
when only using 6 cells the power should be more evenly drawn, however. And not make the cell out of balance. The units don't draw too much power; would take a long time to discharge a pack. It would be a risk however to leave an nearly depleted pack with them on.

The schematic has something to do with the first 6 cells going into a multiplexer and the other two going through a different unit.
