Hello everyone, I'm trying to wire up my Kelly controller but it's proving to be difficult to get it to work. Anybody have experience with these mini controllers?

I feel like I thoroughly understand the connections/workings of a magura throttle, so it's not quite that I don't understand how to wire that up, it's the controller.

So the documentation says...

orange=5v pos
blue=throttle
black=neg
black=neg
white=switch.

Okay, so my controller actually has these wires...

black,black,white,blue,yellow.

Yeah, that's right, no "orange". So I'm assuming yellow is the 5V pos.

So I wire it up like so...

Kelly/Magura
yellow->blue
blue->brown
black->black
white->black

That effectively ties white to ground, which the manual says is needed to activate. So I plug in the controller, see the connectors spark, twist the throttle and no go.

I've looked almost everywhere, and I'm not seeing much info out there. Anyone know how to wire up one of these Kelly mini-controllers? Much thanks!

So, I took a voltmeter out to volt-check the wires to see if I could find the 5v supply wire and none of the wires registered at 5v - All read at 0V, relative to the black ground wire. Do I have a busted controller?

I also closed the "white wire" to ground to "activate the throttle switch" and there was no change in the voltage reading.

I also read the voltages on the *other wires*, and they're also all at 0v.

Is this normal? It almost seems busted to me, but I'm not smelling any funny smells and I didn't see any snap, crackle, popping kind of action.

There is a red wire on the other set of wires coming out that needs to go to + on the battery

Thank you so much! I tried it out and it worked!!!

I wonder why they needed to separate the throttle power supply from the controller's supply? Hmmm... Are these things usually run from an auxiliary 12V power supply in car setups?
