Landrider Autoshift

Cool. I wonder how much the derailleur alone costs. If they even sell it by itself. :?

There used to be a similar system called Autobike... had the weights travelling on the spokes. Never worked well, and the rest of the bike was mediocre.

It would be good if the system allowed on-the-fly adjustment, so the rider could determine the level of spin/effort at the cranks at will.

It'd be like an automatic car...always in the wrong gear...

Yeah I have ridden one of those before. They feel like they are always shifting. That and they shift at the weirdest moment. Such as from a stand still. As soon as you start peddling you get an awkward shift to lower gear. It's great that it shift down but you get an odd jolt.

I was thinking more along the lines of using it to keep a motor around peak efficiency. The adjustable weight thing could also mean you could also keep it around peak power for a race-type situation. 8)

I saw a landrider on cl and remembered running across the name in a forum.I was wondering if there are any updates out there since over a year ago.Has anyone E'd one of these?curious,as the one I saw is selling real cheap, bought new then never used.never seen one on the road.probably would be a fiasco, but I'm still curious.
