OK, an update:
Clean Republic CR1210 bamboo encased "12v 10ah" measure out to 9.5AH at C/5 discharge rate on GT Power A8 (WMR CBA IV on order). After 5 charge/discharge cycles on two different ebikes (Giant LaFree and Currie eFolder with 300w motor) still measure at about 9.5AH capacity. They are being used as "24v 10ah" series connected in an old Currie cloth pack which has a fuse and disconnect switch. I added a cable with dual schottky so that two sets can be used in parallel. As they are still under warranty I haven't opened one up yet. Will do so as soon as warranty expires next year.

I have adhered to the "don't mix battery chemistry" warnings. What is the danger of connecting two schottky diode isolated packs, one LiFePO4 and one set AGM ("gel cell") to a 24v motor controller?
I would think that initially the LFP pack would provide current until the voltage dropped within range of the AGM pack. Then the two would load balance and provide current proportional to the internal battery impedance. Is there a side effect I'm neglecting and should understand as long as schottky isolation is in place?
