while ebaying for lifepo4 48v i found a new dealer that claims to sell lifepo4 batteries at 1/3 the cost of the Eonyx EV Battery sold on electricrider.com.

i was wondering if anyone has any experience with the company hi-power.

the company claims to be in business since the 90's and at $722.00 for a 48V 40A battery with free shipping and free charger and free bms.

the experience things i am looking for is if the company delivers, the quality of the batteries and charger and bms ( does the charger, bms or batteries die too soon)?

an electricrider Eonyx EV Battery is $2000.

If it sounds too good to be true it almost always is. Who is hi-power?? Did you mean dy-power? In which case it's only 20ah.. boo. Do your due diligence and report back to us what you find. :D

I think we should keep on eye on this seller. He now has 2 "qualified" feedback(according to my criteria) that appear genuine and these cells seem identical to the ones offered by Fox power, and Fox's seem to be good cells(I'd really have to get ahold of both to test them.). Also $722/960WH = $.75/WH which is competitive with Ping's. If he emerges as an honest eBay dealer, then the market may start to have some competition that'll finally temper LiFePO4 prices(i.e., lower them).

ok http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=unknown&sbrftog=1&from=R40&sbrbin=t&satitle=lifepo4+48v+20ah&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&bs=Search&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=17815&fbfmt=1&sabfmts=2&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=&fobfmt=1&saobfmts=insif&fsop=34%26fsoo%3D1

i am not posting individual items because ebay is flaky when it comes to spam and closes items if references from forums so above is search result for the term lifepo4 48v 20ah and click buy it now and select price + shipping lowest first.

it may be that the seller is burying the cost of the charger and bms and shipping into the total .

also note it is the naked battery pack (no case or duck tape wrapping.

If I was buying today I'd be very tempted by this seller. Hi power, or dy power, looks like a price breakthrough to me. Particularly cool is the avaliablity of cells in larger sises for motorcycles and cars. The larger sise packs come with nice looking chargers, but the controller will need the right lvc for these packs. Speed of delivery and customer service when a cell arrives bad is yet to be seen for these guys. Hopefully in another year, we can just pop down to the battery section of the hardware store for cells like this. I think the 48v 40 ah is around $900 though. Still a very good price compared to last year for similar cells.

You could bid on the 48v 40 ah battery offered as a ping battery by the guy who isn't ping. Good luck, have fun.

I see two sellers of high power battery packs, but I'd try the dy power first. Appears to be straight from the company. Like the duct tape batteries, we'll have to find out the hard way which vendor not to buy from, and what name he is currently selling under.

Aha.. I see now. I think I baulked because in your original post you said 40ah, but it's actually 20ah, which makes much more sense and is in line with Ping etc.

Another new(?) LiFePO4 seller... Back in August was selling jeans and hoodies apparently... :
