Lipo series questions

I have had a lipo pack for 12 years that has always been fine. It was turnigy Multistars. All 16000mah. It was set up with a 6s and two 4s in series for 14s. Two of those in parallel made a 52V 32ah pack.

Now I have a CYC X1 Pro and I want to run 20S. I have brand new packs. All 16000mah. 2 6s and 2 4s for 20s which I i tend to run just like the others, 2 in parallel for 20s2p.

I got looking around on the web and found folks saying it is not a good idea to run the 4 and 6s packs in series like that. Is that true? Am I flirting with disaster? Have I just been lucky? Has the low bbshd draw kept me safe?

What do the wiser folks say?

Thanks, Mike

As long as the packs are of identical cells and the same parallel amount, it doesn't matter how many cells each has in series, when you series each of them.

If you are using packs in series with different capacities or cells with different capabilities (like some "10C" and some "20C", etc) *then* you could have problems because they will discahrge at different rates and run out at different times, and charging them in series would have the same types of issues.

Thank you. That is what I thought from building my original pack but figured I had better check. New info comes up all the tine right?

All of my packs are tattu 16000mah 10C so I should be good.
