Ok, so I think i've read just about every forum and website I can find about lifepo4 cells and I'm going to try this a different way.

Where can I actually buy cells from Saft, A123 or Valence, or if you know someone who makes a cell comparable with these. A123 doesn't sound like they want to deal in smaller orders and I haven't seen anyone wholesaling them anyways. Saft I can't find pricing on, same with Valence. I could just be looking in the wrong spot... I'd also like to deal with a wholesaler, I know that may sound weird but I like dealing with smaller companies.

I'm looking for lifepo4 cell that can discharge 5c+ continous and pulse 15c+

If you make a cell capable of this please let me know what the cost would be for a 48v 60ah pack or 54v 50ah. Please price with BMS included. I would be interested in buying 2 in afew months, with the possibiliy for many more in the future..

You can put the cell specs up here... i'd be interested in eventually seeing a comparison of batteries as a sticky anyways with update prices. It might be something the Mods could take care off...

Thanks!

Rogan

A123's can be had through A123 Racing or DeWalt packs (if you're up for a LOT of work getting them out), but they're not cheap. I don't know if the Valences can be had at all yet, and the price will probably be even higher. Saft cells might even be harder to come by, and those are bound to be the highest price of all. On the off chance you do manage to find someone who sells Saft stuff, it's likely to be in a pack already, though.

:?

Btw, I remember seeing Valence batteries in the wild. I think it was a e-bike/trike conversion too. No clue where to buy them though. http://www.electricmotorsport.com/store/ems_ev_parts_batteries_thunder_sky.php Electric motor sports lists some Thunder Sky LFP cells in "developer " quantities. I think they fall a bit short of your discharge specification and then there's the mess of sourcing them from China for larger quantities.

Maybe check out Headway on alibaba, they seem to be open to selling to regular people, even though they state 1000 cells minimum on alibaba. There is also a group buy organizing itself as a yahoo group (http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/lifepo4-purchase/), and so far it seems like headway is going to be chosen.

These are rated at 5C continuous, but do have higher internal resistance than A123's it seems.

Good luck!

Try asking Zane @ foxxpower.com if they can build to your spec. I think they can.

I just sent an email off to foxxpower trying to get a little more info on their batteries. It would be nice if they can atleast compete with thundersky and maybe even beat them...who knows.

Have you known any people that have bought from him? They look like good batteries, but no rep yet.
IIRC, madventure got a pack from Zane.
