Look at this nice electric bike --- Elation Electric

Sort of off-topic but.... What is up with that seat. Never quite seen one like that.

I wish it were that easy to become sterile, go biking and no need to have the doc cut your tubes.. Sign me up for that seat!

Weird Bike. Its a "Jeep Rubicon." Weird rear dropout bracing. Like make it weaker.

It says all wheel drive. That is a basic Elation rear wheel drive bike. Nothing special about it.

It is a clean build, though.

Nope. Look at this. Second motor is actually at the top of the fork, driving a bevel gear.

Talk about stealth! I had to look at the other videos to figure this out.

Ahh. So that's it. It would also explain the two batteries, for the extra current drain.

I'd figured a small RC motor in there.

Ok, I stand corrected. It is two wheel drive.

That is a total gimik, though. If you have enough power to the rear wheel, the front wheel will get no traction.

I am sorry to be so negative, but, Elation systems are nothing new and two wheel drive is pure gimik. It is truely a clean build, though. Looks nice.

Those seats are jokes. If you really want to avoid penile arterial constriction (a.k.a. numb nuts), get a recumbent.

I have a regular saddle with a cutout. It makes a good change from what I had before, which was giving me pain on all longer rides. It cost me about $10 so it was a worthwhile investment. A recumbent would cost quite a bit more unfortunately. I'd love a recumbent trike if they were as affordable and available as an upright.

Agreed on the 2WD. In hillclimbing for example, keeping the front wheel on the ground is tricky. Can't see that running power to it would help much.

Check Craigslist in your area. We routinely see the various models of the EZ-3 for sale from anywhere between US$300 to US$600. Often, the person who purchased it hardly ever rode the thing.

I dunno, man, I've got a nice cushy seat with a cutout in the middle that's likely for that purpose (though I just got it because it was the squishiest one Wal-Mart had), and I DO notice a difference when I ride another bike in the garage...

Glad to hear one of them is working for you. I tried one many years ago and it hurt more than my "old school" leather seat. Hopefully, they are much better built now.

I'd love to, but then I'd need to get them to freight it to NZ. I see a trike available every now and then, but they aren't that cheap.

Craigslist in NZ is a joke anyway. We do have trademe.co.nz though.

Well, you'll just have to come vacation in San Diego, California, and take one home with you! It's winter time in NZ now, right? Perfect timing!
