Hello, I have a Benchwheel dual motor that constantly fails due to heat, so I'm hoping to build my own board using some of the components. Here are the components I hope I can re-use:

- Motors
- Battery pack
- Remote

What else is necessary to make the board functional? ESCs I know, anything else? Also, will it even be possible to use the remote that came with the Benchwheel? I love the size and ergonomics of it. Any help is appreciated, I bought the Benchwheel because I don't have the knowledge to build my own, but here I am.

Hi

Using the remote should not be a problem. I believe that is the "generic" controller sold separately on Amazon? You need the receiver out the old board of course.

Where exactly was the heat issue? With the controllers or with the BMS? The controllers should not really be getting to hot as they are sharing the load. The BMS though carries all the load.

I'm really not sure, I don't know a ton about building these things yet which is why I bought the Benchwheel - I just know it will shut down pretty quickly after I ride it for a few minutes. The biggest pain is that the components are in a metal tube underneath the board and they are very snug, it's incredibly difficult to get them out. I'd rather just convert it to a semi-DIY at this point.
