Looking for R.Martin key blanks

I own two 2007 R.Martin scooters and one Efun from about the same year. My problem is, I only have one key for each scooter and have been trying to get duplicates made. I have tried several sources (including two locksmiths) and I keep getting the same result: a key that "sorta works" for the trunk (underseat) lock and doesn't work in the "ignition" switch. These scooters were made by the Huari Group and I have tried buying various key blanks from sources such as "Electric Scooter Parts" in California. Have any of you had any experience like this or might have any ideas where to find the proper key blank. One thing that distinguishes this key blank is that it has a molded "almost octagonal" shape on the end for opening the cover to the key slot. Here's a picture of one of my keys.

Wouldn't it be easier to change out the keyswitches / locks for something with an available blank (or that already comes with multiple keys)?

I used one from a Briggs and Straton mower on an early SB Cruiser version (mine was well-used, from a donated box of stuff; the new ones I can find like this Briggs & Stratton 7017817YP Ignition Switch
are not the same and don't have the quality-looking B&S marked key or the machined chrome-plated-brass housing, etc.

I'd bet you can still get good quality ones (probably much better than what's already installed, even) from places like McMaster-Carr.

Whether you can get a set of keyed-alike lock + keyswitch, I don't know. but you can ask them. :)

Well. thank you for your thoughts. There are three cylinders that are keyed alike on these R. Martin by EFUN scooters. There is the underseat trunk area, the compartment that was used for gas tank access on the gasoline versions, and the cylinder/switch that is customarily the ignition switch. This switch will also lock the steering. I know you can actually buy "locksets" for the Chinese gasoline scooters, but changing the one that locks the steering is a major pain - lots of stuff has to come off; and there is no guarantee that what I can purchase today will work on these old, but low miles, 2008 scooters. I have been in here before and it is a lot of work. Here is a picture with the key switch circled in red. Click on the thumbnail for a better view.
