For the past few months, the kids in Beijing have been VVVVVVery bored. We decided to make them a lovely e-mtb.
Firstly, some standards need to defined:

1. MUST Be light. (My daughter is only 5 years old,If the bike is too heavy, I'm afraid it's hard to control.)
2. Various sizes of wheel hub (14-20 inch) can be used.
3. Select the low-power hub motor at the beginning.
Later, it can be gradually replaced by high-power motor.

This is a simple design:(At first, I thought my daughter would like this color. In the end, of course, she chose white.

To determine the size, I referred to two of my daughter's bicycles.I estimated the ride height and decided to use 16 inch tires.
Although this frame looks very simple, but still need to design a set of simple fixture.

I want to plug the battery pack between the bike frame. then I need to make a small battery box. Using aluminum alloy plate can ensure that the battery box is not too heavy.Installation and disassembly are also convenient.

Painting、 assembly、 commissioning. finished!!!I need to be very careful when I assemble. safety first. :D and It's so important to wear helmets and all kinds of protective.

I tried 3 types of power motors. 250w、350w、800w.
I think 350W is fast. But She seems to like 800W very much.
I decided to let her practice for a while before replacing her 800W motor.

That's what the cool Dad's do! Looks like she isn't bored now. How much did it end up weighing?

What is the weight in the end?

The weight is 16kg..I still think it's a little heavy.I'm trying to make it lighter.

Now you got to make one for yourself you can't let her ride alone. Nice work

Great job. My daughter is too old (a consequence of being born 30 years ago). Was going to make my eight year old granddaughter a fat tire e-MTB, but she's having too much fun on an MTB.
