Heading back to Madrid in a few days but I bought a few goodies while stateside to upgrade my first build and move onto the second and maybe 3rd

Madrid LD2 41 in. Double kicktail longboard.
2x enertion r-spec 63 190KW motors
2 x bubblegum board welded paris truck mounts, 3d printed belt covers, pulleys sets, belts, and 275KW motors.
3x Badwolf GT2B printed enclosures
And
2x VESC's and 3x li-ion batteries waiting in Madrid.

An Earthwing hoopty 36 may also be in the cards.
Variety of 83 urethane wheels
Set of enertion off road rims, pnuematic tires and slicks tires from Alien Drive.

It's gonna be an awesome E-skate autumn.

Had some time this week to work on current ride and plan some builds. Here is my report thus far with some changes and photos.

First board - the mutt

?Board warps?
I've noticed that the board itself seems to be warping. The rear right wheel doesn't touch the pavement on standard flat ground without weight on it. I'm just writting this off to buying a 30 dollar no name board off eBay. I had never really skated until I started e boarding. Any of you have this happen with your boards? I figure single motor torques the board uneven to one side and maybe if the board used cheap glue and low quality ply to build ( what else can one expect for 30 bucks)

Controller
I have switched from the nunchuck to a GT2b controller. I had some issues with signal drop and stutters in acceration from the wii nunchuck so sprung for a 25 euro Flysky GT2B. Thus far it has had solid connections and great performance. I have three of badwolfs V2 printed enclosures in blue and red that I will eventually transplant the innards to but for now I'm fine using the flysky as is. The transplants will probably be a rainy day activity. Been re-reading sl33py's write up - thanks for that by the way.

Motor
I swapped out my 50mm 190 Kv DIY motor which I have loved and worked hard the past few months for Enertions 63mm motor. I was impressed how the little 50 mm could move my not so small butt, however adding that 13 mm makes a huge difference! I'm a 95 kg dude and on a single motor with 83 wheels. The change in acceleration and Max speed from stepping up motor size is ridiculous. I'm mostly carving flats next to a river. There is significantly less stutter on the start ( I normally kick once or twice) and I feel like I can use more of my power (2 x 4s Lipo hard case 5000mAh in series).

ESC
torqueboards 12s ESC has held up like a champ ( props to you for the great product- ive been reading about the woes of others with inferior ESC's. I think I have two VSC's on their way ....? Marcin ?...? But for now torque's is kickin ass and taking names.

Wheels
Ultimately I'm looking for a smooth ride. So far my experience with skate wheels has been rough.....maybe I'm not using the right spacers. Reading whiteponys build maybe it's my plastic risers....? Any ideas gents?

With the change in motors and the difference in feel I thought it might be a good chance to re-try onloops (enertion) all terrain set up. Roads and sidewalks around Madrid and Alcala de Henares are far from buttery smooth and I was disappointed when I tried them with the single 50mm motor. The 50 just didn't have the power to get up and move. Starts even with a push would stutter and the motor and ESC would get hot after just a few minutes.

With the 63 motor the all terrain setup is pretty slick. I am running enertion all terrains rims with Aliendrive's slick tires. The tire and tube fit isn't exact and the tube valve throws off a the balance a bit of the wheels. Without weight the board shimmies a bit which was worries one at first but with my weight the ride was great. Can't feel the rough roads at all, traction galore and so so so smooth. I'm sure it's hell on the bearings ( especially without the spacers ) but for now it works great.

Enertion (left) vs aliendrive tires

Power systems

I over discharged my lipos when I first got them and they have been unbalanced ever since. I get maybe 8 or so Km a charge but I wanted a more stable power source. Found what I think are old bubblegum board stock online and bought a few. Li-ion 7s2p (26650 cells -3.7 4000mAh) packs with BMS, monitor and on/off switch. Haven't had a chance to hook up yet but eventually ......hoping these can replace my lipos.

Not sure what would become of my charging station as these Li-ions just plug into the wall but i think it's a step in the right direction.

I need to figure out the enclosure for these.,

Future work and refining:
I need to work on my enclosures. Right now sticky Velcro is my savior and my lipos already have hard cases. thinking whitepony is on to something with his mounting.

Next build is going to be a commuter.
I have my eye on an earthwing 34 hoopty. The board has a much shorter stance than my current 42, I think a bit more maneuverable. I'm hoping with these Li-ion packs and some big wheels and motors that I can put together a durable everyday board - it's a pretty flat commute.

Nice updates....

Have you tried 90mm vs 83mm.. 90mm seems to be a lot more smoother.

I also seen All Terrain Flywheel type wheels. http://shop.mbs.com/accessories-486/mountainboard-wheels/complete-wheels/mbs-all-terrain-longboard-wheels.html --- Bought one to test out..They are 100mm.

Nothing like a short commuter. Short nimble and quick. I prefer the 33-35" decks for commuting. Haven't tried shorter though.

You should see the 8" MBS wheels which Austin David had on his board. It's like butter... http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=58611&p=895630#p895630

Those Alien pneumatics are pretty cool.

How do they corner on pavement?

After using 90 Abec clones I would not go back to 83. Just too rough with 83's.

I have seen a few people on here using real 90mm Abec 75a's.

Has anyone compared the ride between real and clone 90 Abecs?

Big difference with the softer 75a urethane?

Very nice setup :!: :!:
See you in Madrid some day

Pd: Do you make bikes also or only boards?

Torque, CSN- has anyone tried the 97 clones or the true 107's? I'm looking at those and getting real rubber blozen risers. Maybe some softer thane.

Chucho-
I build up non-ebikes.
Current stable includes as Cherry red Surly Cross-check and a black Kona cross bike.
Looking into the ebike world eventually, still in love with the standards

great updates :D

problem of pneumatic wheels is: they wear down SUPERFAST! they are extremely grippy and you can carve like crazy - but I have to change the set usually after 300km max (thats with my commute every 3 weeks)! of course I usually carve really hard, if you just drive in a straight line they probably last forever. but who does that?!

I will let you try when im back to Madrid  standards are great till you take the bait

first sl33py, now you!! both of you havent even finished your 2nd board and you are already thinking about the next

monkey, what settings of the torqueboard ESCs are you running with your r-spec motor?

edit: ey! okp deleted his post about the 29" board he wants to build just under my nose!

Hola Bitcholas!

Whitepony - I honestly havent adjusted the setting since purchase, I remember dropping the brake strength and toying a little with acceleration. I will mess around with this once i have a 'set' board and some time.

Some upgrades and updates.

Boards and wheels -I found a cheap new board, Spanish produced Amano Longboard. 40 euros - not much concave but solid board.....thinking i'll build this up before the Madrid Board.
I recieved a set of 90 ABEC clones in orange and you all were right....the difference from 83's is huge. Lovin the ride on these puppies, and roll over everything.

Recieved a shipment from torque that had some of his green 90's and a third set of trucks and threw these on my Madrid Board. Like the look, may need to get some shorter risers....it feels tall. The board has great flex to it.

New goodies and power I recieved some Kydex and have started toying with one of my battery packs. I am working on wood molds to set the Kydex hopefully finish them in two weeks.

Cheers Gents

Looks good! I really like the blue grip tape w/ those wheels.

How does your madrid clear without the risers? Doesn't seem like you should need risers at all w/ the wheel cutouts! I'd remount without and see if it fits.

GL!

yeah sl33py the Amano board came with that blue tape. I like it too!! Maybe get the green wheels on the blue .....little 12th man thing going on.

I'll try the Madrid without risers. Maybe make it all-terrain. It's got a good bit of flex.

Hi I'm from madrid can you tell me where you bought the motor support? I'm looking for but often expensive Thanks

Hola yo también soy de Madrid me podrías decir donde compraste el soporte del motor? lo estoy buscando pero suele ser caro Gracias

Hey Rome,
I have purchased my motor mounts/supports from three sources so far:

Enertion electric skate in Australia ..........the member onloop in the forum is the owner. These are the gold mounts you see on my skateboard in this thread.

I have a second/third motor mount set-up from DIY electric skate in California.........the member torquboard in Endless sphere is the owner. I don't have pictures of these but check out whitepony, okp, sl33py, and numerous others.

The supports with motors you see at the top of the page were purchased from a voodoojar in this forum, who started a electric skateboard company that didn't work out. The supports are welded to the trucks, where the others are removable.

All these are great and work well. I have too many parts right now to build so if you were interested I would be happy to sell you one or two of voodoojars welded mounts.......

Excuse the poor spanish......

Hey Roma,
