Dear all.

Hope this is the correct place to ask this question.

Is it possible to create a magnetic powered bike? I mean, is it possible to add magnets to my (our) bike(s) in order to have an alternative to mid-drive motors and hub-motors?

I have an idea of what to buy and how to make, but first of all i need answers.

And yes, I know that just magnets won't move the bike, it will be needed external force (my legs).

Hope you all understand what I'm trying to ask.

Regards,
Carlos

...yes it is possible, but you are still talking about an electric motor of some kind.

No,

Just magnets on the front (or rear) wheel, something like the Minato wheel. Some magnets with the North pole facing upwards and one N magnet pushing down from the handle bar, creating a negative force, just to help me along the way

something like this

http://www.google.pt/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CAcQjRw&url=http%3A%2F%2Fthesilentroom.com%2Ffyp%2F&ei=dkYLVbjOOsv3UK2-gsAB&bvm=bv.88528373,d.d24&psig=AFQjCNGQNCUEa5h2VXlHxXe6M8zyPkZIOw&ust=1426888586272136 (idea 3)

and the fixed magnet would be placed in the handle bar, near the whell

Magnets are not a source of energy, they are a source of force. It takes as much energy to bring magnets together as they can produce by repelling each other.

You can not run a motor on nothing but magnetic power alone. There may be people who "prove" you can, But a Magician can "Prove" he can saw a woman in half, make a jet disappear from within a ring of people, and guess the card you picked from his deck. It's all just smoke and mirrors. It's simply a trick.

Even if you can't figure out the trick your self, it's easy to dismiss most of the free energy or Magnet energy claims with simple physics.
