This is an incredible magnetic field instrument. Notice how the inventor changes the sounds of the magnetic field, with perfection.

So the Theremin was invented by a Russian émigré electrical engineer. He received a Hollywood award on his 85th or so (a few years ago) birthday for his contribution to movie soundtracks. He was amazed that people were still so interested in and enthralled by his "parlor trick " invention. There are solid state kits available in the web-o-sphere, but I'm sure they a not as handsome as that 1929 RCA piece of furniture. Really enjoyed that clip!

Just had to mention the Theremins' otherworldly sound reminds me of the Benjamin Franklin Glass Armonica (correct spelling). I'm sure there are U tube posts of it as well. This was the only musical instrument he invented.
