The 17th of May Parade celebrates the National Day of Norway or Syttende Mai. The parade has grown to 25,000 spectators and has become a Ballard community celebration. The parade is this Sunday, May 17th at 4pm and check-in is at 3pm.
This is the first year electric bikes have been approved to participate in the parade so lets make a great turn out and show the community that electric bikes are a viable form of alternative transportation and are downright bad-ass!
We will meet at 3pm at the check-in station near Adams school, corner of 28th and 62nd NW. The parade begins at the corner of NW 62nd and 24th Avenue NW. The route follows south to Market Street and eastward to Bergen Place park, then turns right onto 22nd and continues south down Ballard Avenue and ends at Dock St.

The parade officials have five rules:
1. Do not exceed speeds of 20mph.
2. Must wear a bike helmet.
3. Do not attempt unsafe or flashy maneuvers to ensure spectator safety.
4. Do not throw candy to spectators.
5. Decorate your electric bikes in the Norwegian flag colors (Red, Blue and White).
We will provide balloons, Norwegian flags and streamers for your e-bike at the parade check-in so be sure to arrive at 3pm to give yourself time to decorate!
Parking will be difficult so please arrive early to make sure you have ample time to park or avoid parking by riding your e-bike to the parade check-in!
Please RSVP, we are limited in the number of electric bikes but we're hoping to get around 25-30 electric bikes.
