Mini-El City-El cityel Curtis, motor

Hello

I got old City-El, in good condition, still need some improvements.



The car is with compound motor Thrige TTL140 and 1204 Curtis controller. There are 4 contactors and additional board for regenerative breake.

I am looking for other controller which has the in-build regenerative function, programming interface and may eliminate the need of the contactors.

I come across some Curtis controllers which may fit like SepEx type 1266 for example. So far I am not sure if it can work with compound motor. Any help or experiance here is strongly appreciated

The battery are installed and balancing very good.

So far it consumes app 1ah per km at speed over 50km/h

Top on flat is 65, downhill 80...

hi, still working on the city el?
I just found one and its working.. pfiew..
but.. the motor is getting very hot, as is the controller.
before I put in a brushless motor and controller, I would like to hear if it is worth the money and the hassle..
what would you guys do?
